WITH `FEET' DOWN, HOOK SHORT END OF TRAINER ROUND TRUNK JUST BELOW LEVEL OF LATERAL (top diagram). 

TO TRAIN ALONG LATERAL, APPLY AS ABOVE ON OLDER WOOD 

CAREFULLY BEND LONG END UP AND OVER LATERAL. 

LEAVE IN PLACE TILL TRAINED, UP TO 4 WEEKS FOR APPLES, 3 MONTHS FOR PEARS.
